Meet the Trainer: Andrew Gray

Former Professional Player | Canadian International | Youth Mentor

Andrew Gray brings a wealth of elite-level experience to Grassroots Soccer Canada, drawn from an 8-year professional career that spans both North America and Europe. A product of Canada’s national soccer system, Andrew represented the Canadian Youth National Teams at various age levels, competing against top international talent and gaining exposure to the tactical, technical, and mental standards of the global game.

After developing within Canada’s high-performance pathway, Andrew earned his way to the professional ranks in Europe, where he competed across several countries known for their rigorous playing styles and developmental intensity. His time overseas sharpened his tactical awareness, adaptability, and understanding of different footballing cultures—insight he now uses to mentor and shape the next generation.

Throughout his career, Andrew faced the pressures and demands of professional football head-on, gaining firsthand knowledge of what it truly takes to excel, persevere, and evolve in high-stakes environments. His coaching reflects that journey—structured yet creative, disciplined yet fun, rooted in fundamentals but always pushing players to think for themselves and play with purpose.

Today, Andrew uses that experience to bridge the gap between grassroots and greatness, helping young athletes develop strong technical foundations, elite habits, and the confidence to chase their dreams—whether that’s making the starting lineup, a rep team, or one day playing on a national or professional stage themselves.
